Nestled within a rural corner of Bergen County, New Jersey, the Borough of Rockleigh is a rare throwback to the Colonial Era, populated with vernacular farmsteads and houses spanning the mid eighteenth to late nineteenth century. Intent on protecting its rich architectural legacy, the borough has both a zoning ordinance and a team of professionals on which it relies to guide its preservation efforts. Since 2005, Gregory has been part of Rockleigh's consultant team, conducting reviews of development applications, offering written and oral testimony at monthly board meetings, and providing input to its Historic Preservation Commission and Planning Board on various redevelopment proposals affecting its historic properties. Beyond these core services, Gregory has completed a series of preservation planning studies to enable the borough to advance its preservation objectives in the twenty-first century.
